Everton goalkeeper George Pickford joins AFC Fylde on short-term loan

Everton goalkeeper George Pickford has joined AFC Fylde on loan for a short-term spell.

The 19-year-old is moving from Everton’s Under-21 team to the National League club in England.

The move gives him a chance to play senior football, after he previously went on loan to Southport.

Pickford has played for Everton’s Under-18 and Under-21 sides and represents England at Under-20 level.

Regular first-team minutes can help develop a young goalkeeper by giving him experience against senior opposition.

The loan is temporary, and Pickford is expected to return to Everton after it ends.
