911 call details CPR attempt before Hayden Panettiere's death

A newly released 911 call captures the effort to revive actress Hayden Panettiere after she was found unconscious on Aug.

16.

She was found at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, by Zach Hickerson and his brother Brian, her on-and-off boyfriend.

Zach told the dispatcher he did not think Panettiere was breathing, and the dispatcher guided him through CPR while emergency crews were on the way.

Brian reportedly gave her Narcan, a medicine used to reverse opioid overdoses, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

The coroner ruled that the death was accidental and caused by the toxic effects of several drugs, including fentanyl.

Panettiere had spoken publicly about her struggles with addiction and wrote about them in her 2026 memoir, making the circumstances of her death especially relevant to the story she had shared about recovery.
