Ukraine and Russian rights officials expected at Melania Trump’s White House event

Ukraine’s Dmytro Lubinets and Russia’s Yana Lantratova are expected at a White House event on Nov.

5, where Melania Trump will speak about a ceasefire near Oleshky.

The White House has not named the representatives who will attend.

Lantratova is under US sanctions, so she needs a special waiver from the State Department to enter the country.

The limited truce ran from Oct.

27 to Nov.

1 and allowed civilians to leave Russian-occupied Oleshky in southern Ukraine.

The town has faced shortages of food, water, electricity and medical supplies, and aid groups had been blocked from bringing assistance.

Melania Trump said nearly 800 people were evacuated, but Ukraine and Russia have not confirmed the total, and the Kremlin has ruled out further similar operations for now.
