Indonesia’s Capital Market Investors Reach 33.55 Million

Indonesia’s financial regulator said capital market investors reached 33.55 million in October, after 1.38 million people joined in one month.

The total was up 64.75% since the start of 2026.

The increase came as the Jakarta Composite Index fell 16.7% during October, closing at 5,057.05.

The regulator said a proposal by index provider MSCI to review Indonesia’s market classification affected market movements.

Foreign investors sold a net 16.88 trillion rupiah worth of shares during the month.

At the same time, average daily share trading rose to 16.31 trillion rupiah, from 14.94 trillion rupiah in September.

The figures show that investor numbers and trading activity grew despite a sharp market decline.
