Matutes hotel group’s profit falls 30% as operating margin improves
Fiesta Hotels & Resorts, owned by the Matutes family, made €125.6 million in net profit in 2025, nearly 30% less than its record profit a year earlier.
The fall reflected one-off financial gains in 2024 that did not recur, rather than weaker profitability in its regular hotel business.
Revenue fell 3% to €264.7 million, but lower staffing and external service costs helped operating profit rise 3.6% to €42.27 million.
Cash holdings nearly quadrupled to €148.93 million, while loans from banks increased 7% to €261 million.
The group includes Palladium and also has interests in restaurants, events, property and other sectors.
Shareholders put all 2025 profit into reserves, and did not approve an ordinary dividend from that year’s earnings.
