Amazon adds shopping features to two Bee AI wearables

Amazon has announced two new Bee devices that listen to daily conversations and turn them into summaries, transcripts, insights and to-dos.

The Bee Frontier costs $74.99 and can be worn as a wristband or clipped on; the credit-card-shaped Bee Eclipse costs $99.99 and is designed to attach to a phone.

Both devices can help users track what was said, and can connect with services such as Gmail and Google Calendar to draft emails or create calendar invites.

A new Bee Pro plan costs $11.99 a month and adds features including suggested to-dos, a personal chat assistant and integrations with other apps.

Opt-in Amazon and Alexa Plus links can surface shopping suggestions based on conversations, such as a reminder to buy cat litter.

Amazon says Bee encrypts transcripts, summaries and to-dos and does not store audio recordings, but the devices’ listening raises privacy concerns.

The Frontier is available now, while the Eclipse is coming soon.
