Saudi Energy Minister Awards Six Winning Teams in First Energy Hackathon
Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman awarded six teams in the country’s first Energy Hackathon.
The ceremony took place during the World Petroleum Congress in Riyadh, held alongside Riyadh Energy Week.
More than 6,700 people from over 40 Saudi cities took part, forming more than 1,200 teams.
The finalists developed their ideas at a three-day camp hosted by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, with guidance from energy specialists.
The six winning teams were recognised across three tracks: operational efficiency, innovative vision and smart control.
They will now join a four-week programme to prepare their projects for business incubators and accelerators.
The programme is intended to help move the solutions from ideas toward practical use and support innovation in Saudi Arabia’s energy sector.
