Guizhou Sets 2030 Targets for High-Value Patents
Guizhou’s intellectual property authority and 11 other departments issued a five-year patent plan covering 2026 to 2030.
The plan focuses on innovation needs in the province’s six major industrial clusters and three特色 industries.
By the end of 2030, Guizhou aims for at least 3.3 high-value invention patents per 10,000 people and at least 50 patent-development projects over five years.
It also aims to support 100 companies through intellectual property projects and increase patent transfers and licensing.
The plan calls for checking patent quality before applications and helping businesses turn patents into products, including through industry-focused services and deal-making events.
It will also support overseas patent protection and use data and artificial intelligence to manage patents.
The work starts in 2026, intensifies from 2027 to 2029, and moves to consolidation in 2030, with funding and evaluation measures intended to encourage research and commercialization.
