Celios rates Prabowo-Gibran government poorly; Gerindra disputes survey
A Celios and Shadow Cabinet assessment gave Indonesia’s government low ratings after two years in office.
The assessment covered President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming and their cabinet.
It surveyed 1,142 members of the public and 129 experts between September 15 and October 9, 2026.
The cabinet scored 4.7 out of 10 from the public and 2.9 from experts, while Prabowo and Gibran also received lower scores from experts than from the public.
Respondents raised concerns about taxes, unemployment and household finances, and many said government policies caused stress.
Gerindra spokesperson Sugiat Santoso rejected the findings as unsupported and subjective, saying the survey did not fairly measure government performance.
He defended the government’s approach to economic policy, ministerial changes and village cooperatives.
The assessments and the party’s response present sharply different views, and the reports give no further next step.
A report by Celios and the Shadow Cabinet gave the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet an average score of 4.7 out of 10 from the public and 2.9 from experts.
The report said economic pressures, weak coordination and problems with government priorities contributed to low ratings.
It also found that 75 percent of respondents felt stressed by government policies.
Gerindra spokesperson Sugiat Santoso disputed the report, calling some of its claims excessive and its scoring subjective.

What people are saying
The general public rated cabinet performance at 4.7 out of 10 and experts rated it 2.9 out of 10.
75 percent feel stressed by government policies. And specifically, 67 percent are stressed by Prabowo Subianto’s behavior.
Calling 75% of respondents stressed by government policies is an excessive claim that dramatizes the economic transition to create panic in society.
President Prabowo was not elected by the people to please commentators but to execute real change that directly affects people’s welfare.
