Ulsan completes 8,700-square-metre forest at industrial complex

Ulsan has completed a new urban forest at the Gilcheon 2nd General Industrial Complex in South Korea.

The forest covers 8,700 square metres of parks and green space around factories.

The city planted 9,797 trees chosen to help reduce fine dust, including zelkova and metasequoia trees.

The project cost 700 million won, including 350 million won in national funding, and aims to improve conditions for workers and nearby residents.

Since 2022, Ulsan has also planted more than 62,000 trees at other industrial complexes.

The city plans another urban forest next year at the Bonggye General Industrial Complex in Ulju County, with a budget of 500 million won.
