Indonesia Issues $3 Billion in Global Sukuk

Indonesia issued $3 billion in global sukuk, a form of sharia-compliant bond, in international markets.

The government sold three series with maturities of three, five and 10 years.

The bonds drew strong interest, with total demand reaching 2.9 times the amount offered.

High demand allowed Indonesia to lower its initial price guidance during the sale.

The Finance Ministry said investor interest reflected confidence in Indonesia’s economic fundamentals and took advantage of favorable global market conditions.

The issuance is Indonesia’s sixth international market transaction in 2026, following five sales of conventional debt securities.

The bonds are scheduled to settle on November 13, 2026.
