Ulju County to Hold Wildfire Response Drill on Oct. 30

South Korea's Ulju County will hold a disaster response drill on Oct.

30 at county offices and near Ulju Sports Center in Ulsan.

The exercise will simulate a medium-sized wildfire spreading to an electric-vehicle charging area at the sports facility.

It follows the national disaster preparedness exercise plan set by South Korea's Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

About 300 people from 16 organizations, including fire services, police, the Korea Forest Service and the Red Cross, will take part.

The drill will test firefighting, rescues, evacuations and response to an EV fire, as well as recovery work, with command discussions linked live to field exercises.

Traffic controls, sirens, smoke effects and helicopter flights are planned around the site, and residents are asked to follow evacuation alerts; anyone who spots a wildfire should call 119.
