Police pursue major drug suppliers after raids in two Jakarta neighborhoods

Indonesian police are pursuing major drug suppliers linked to Kampung Ambon and Kampung Boncos, two neighborhoods in West Jakarta.

The investigation follows coordinated raids on Friday, October 9, involving 700 police and military personnel.

Police arrested 24 people: 16 in Kampung Ambon and eight in Kampung Boncos.

Officers also seized drugs, cash and sharp weapons, including arrows, spears and bows.

Investigators are examining whether the two neighborhoods are part of the same drug network or separate networks.

The police say they will pursue the major suppliers and have asked residents to share information about drug trafficking.

The investigation is continuing, and no further arrests are specified.
