Amrabat makes FC Utrecht debut at 39 and sets club age record

Nordin Amrabat made his FC Utrecht debut in a 2-1 win away to FC Twente.

At 39 years and 201 days, he became the club’s oldest-ever outfield player.

Amrabat joined Utrecht on an amateur basis and says he does not need a salary.

He had waited nearly two months for his first playing time and came on late to help defend the lead.

He hopes to earn more minutes after the debut.

Utrecht are due to host PEC Zwolle next Saturday, and Amrabat hopes to play there.
