EU and China reach preliminary trade deal on hybrids and rare earths
The EU and China have agreed on a first step to change some trade rules.
The plan could reduce Chinese hybrid-car exports to the EU and make it easier to import rare earths used in batteries.
It may also lower tariffs on some European goods sold in China.
The deal is not final, and EU leaders will discuss the progress.
