Badrinath urges India to replace Sooryavanshi with Chakaravarthy
Former India batter S Badrinath urged India to replace Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with Varun Chakaravarthy for the third T20 international against New Zealand.
Sooryavanshi played at No.
3 in the second match after Ishan Kishan was ruled out with an injury, and scored four runs from eight balls.
India chased New Zealand's 181 in the final over, with contributions from Naman Dhir, Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Badrinath says another specialist bowler could help India limit New Zealand's scoring, as the lower-order batters have been contributing runs.
Chakaravarthy has not played for India since a side strain during the T20I series against Afghanistan last month.
India lead the five-match series 2-0, and a win in the third match in Wellington on Tuesday would seal the series.
It is not clear whether India will make the change; Badrinath also said Sanju Samson should not have to give up his opening role to accommodate Sooryavanshi.
