Aeroméxico to launch three daily Mexico City–US routes in January 2027
Aeroméxico plans three new daily routes from Mexico City to Orange County in California, Fort Lauderdale in Florida and Portland in Oregon, starting in January 2027.
The flights will leave from Mexico City International Airport and will be the only direct services between the city and those destinations.
The announcement follows the US Department of Transportation’s removal of restrictions on new routes between the two countries.
The restrictions had blocked Mexican airlines from adding routes from Mexico City’s main airport and Felipe Ángeles International Airport.
The US said the measures broke a bilateral aviation agreement; Mexico agreed to return airport slots to US airlines and allow all-cargo flights at Mexico City International Airport.
The new routes will expand the Aeroméxico-Delta network to 27 US destinations from Mexico City.
They are part of the airlines’ joint cooperation agreement and will add travel options between Mexico and the United States.
