Woman, 65, found dead after falling from rocks near Gallio
Serenella Bonaldi, 65, died after falling from a rocky drop near Gallio in Italy’s Vicenza province.
She had gone out with her dog at about 5:30 p.m.
on Friday for a walk near the holiday home she shared with her husband.
When she did not return, her husband raised the alarm, and the dog was found alive nearby.
Rescue teams searched through the night and were joined by firefighters, police and dog units.
They found Bonaldi’s body about three kilometres from the house at around 9:15 a.m.
on Saturday.
She had apparently slipped after leaving a dirt track and crossing a meadow, then fallen from the rocks.
The fall was fatal, and rescuers recovered her body from below the drop.
