Mohammad Yousuf urges Babar Azam to seek specialist coaching abroad

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf urged Babar Azam to seek specialist batting coaching in England or Australia.

He said Babar should address technical problems before returning to first-class cricket, warning that further struggles could hurt his confidence.

Babar scored 118 runs in five matches in Pakistan’s recent ODI tri-series, with a highest score of 45 and a duck in the final against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan won the tournament, but Babar’s poor run has renewed questions about his form and technique.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi says Babar is expected to play for Lahore Whites against Afridi’s FATA side in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, beginning November 3.

Yousuf’s advice therefore differs from the immediate domestic return Afridi has described.

Babar is also scheduled to lead Pakistan in a two-Test series against Sri Lanka, beginning November 9.
