Call of Duty: Warzone shuts down on PS4 and Xbox One

Call of Duty: Warzone has shut down on PS4 and Xbox One, ending support for those older consoles.

The free-to-play battle royale was withdrawn in stages: downloads and real-money purchases ended on June 4, and its in-game store was removed on June 25.

The game remains available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, so the shutdown does not end Warzone altogether.

Players moving to a newer console can carry over their progression and eligible content bought with COD Points by linking an Activision account.

Unspent COD Points may not transfer between PlayStation and Xbox, though balances can transfer between consoles in the same family.

The shutdown coincides with the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 on November 6.
