Zelensky visits the Netherlands for talks on air defense and economic support

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Netherlands on Wednesday for talks with Dutch leaders in The Hague.

He met Prime Minister Rob Jetten and was scheduled to meet King Willem-Alexander later in the day.

The discussions covered strengthening Ukraine's air defense and expanding defense and economic cooperation.

The Netherlands has confirmed 1.2 billion euros in non-military aid over three years for Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction.

It has also provided about $10 billion in military aid as of mid-2026, including F-16 jets and Patriot air-defense launchers.

The support comes as Russia is striking Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of another harsh winter.

Ukrainian and Dutch business leaders were also due to meet, while the two governments said they would discuss further steps to support Ukraine.
