BJP chief urges opposition to unite with government on national security

BJP president Nitin Nabin urged opposition parties to unite with the government on national security at an event in New Delhi marking L.K. Advani’s 100th birthday.

Nabin said Advani had supported the government on security matters even when the BJP was in opposition.

He said parties should stand together when the country faces a security challenge.

Advani is a veteran BJP leader and former deputy prime minister who served as a parliamentary opposition leader.

Nabin also praised Advani and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for working together and helping the BJP grow from a party with two seats in the Lok Sabha.

He recalled Advani’s role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and said the Ram Temple in Ayodhya honours his historic journey.

Nabin’s remarks were a call for political unity on national security, but no further action was announced.
