Phone review in 14-year-old’s death finds gun photos and AI queries

A 14-year-old boy died when a licensed pistol fired on July 24 in Arifiye, in Turkey’s Sakarya province.

A 15-year-old has been arrested in the ongoing investigation.

A review of the teenager’s phone found a March photo showing two pistols and a magazine on a table, with the teenager and another boy nearby.

The phone also showed questions about guns and killing sent to an AI app in July.

The boy’s parents reject claims that his death was an accident and say their son was killed; these are their statements, not a final finding in the investigation.

Investigators are continuing to examine the case, including photographs and phone records.
