Turkey’s Competition Authority has fined seven wood-products companies 1.3 billion lira over tenders for wood-based products.

The tenders were run by the General Directorate of Forestry.

The companies make MDF and particleboard, materials used in furniture and construction.

The authority said they coordinated their actions in the tenders, violating competition law.

Six companies settled during the investigation, while Yıldız Entegre was fined after the standard investigation process.

The fines range from about 23 million to 515 million lira, and the authority gave no further steps in the announcement.
