The BCCI named former India fast bowler Parvinder Awana chair of its Junior Selection Committee on Friday.

The committee selects players for India’s junior cricket teams.

Awana played two T20 internationals for India and took 191 wickets in 62 first-class matches.

Krishna Das, Rakesh Patel and N. Arjun Yadav were also appointed to the committee.

Each has played cricket and later worked in coaching or other cricket roles.

The committee has four members so far, and the BCCI said it will appoint a fifth soon.
