Casio unveils nine analog G-Shock watches inspired by its 1983 original

Casio has announced nine new analog G-Shock watches in its GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 ranges.

The designs take inspiration from the DW-5000C, the first G-Shock, which launched in 1983.

A three-part display can show the date, stopwatch minutes or setting information, and setting the date enables an automatic calendar.

The watches also have a small seconds hand that can be stopped to help reduce power use.

The two ranges differ in their materials: the GAC-2500 models are resin, while GMC-2500 versions include metal details and bands.

Casio says the watches retain G-Shock shock resistance, and one source also lists 200-metre water resistance.

Sales are scheduled to begin in November 2026, with Japanese prices from ¥20,900 to ¥49,500; the sources differ on whether availability begins on November 7.
