Brazil’s 11/11 online sales are forecast to reach R$3.17 billion

Brazilian e-commerce sales on 11/11 are forecast to reach R$3.17 billion in 2026, up 21% from the year before.

The date is part of a wider trend of shopping events built around repeated numbers, which began with China’s Singles’ Day and spread to other markets.

Shopee brought its 9/9 promotion to Brazil in 2020, and rivals including Mercado Livre and Amazon later adopted double-number sale days.

From January to September 2026, all double-number dates generated R$14.4 billion in Brazilian online sales, 42.1% more than in the same period a year earlier.

Orders rose 56%, but the average amount spent per order fell 8.9%, suggesting shoppers placed more orders while spending less on each one.

Shopee plans more extra coupons for 11/11 than for Black Friday, though the amounts are close: R$25 million and R$23 million, respectively.

Double-number events do not appear to be replacing Black Friday: nine in 10 consumers still plan to shop during its main November promotion, and more people are researching purchases early.
