Tornado at Antalya construction site kills four workers and injures one
A tornado struck a construction site in Kepez, Antalya, in southern Turkey.
It tore apart two containers where construction workers were staying and threw five workers from them.
Four workers died and one was injured; the injured worker’s condition was reported as good.
The incident happened while Turkey’s Meteorological Service had issued a yellow-code warning for heavy rain in Antalya.
A crane at the same site also toppled, but no one was hurt by the crane; officials said the deaths and injury were not caused by it.
The governor said no other tornado or storm reports had come from elsewhere in the city, and checks at the site were continuing for anyone else who might be hurt or dead.
