Phasmophobia community raises more than $230,000 for heart charity

The Phasmophobia community raised more than $230,000 for the American Heart Association through its Ghost Hunts for Hearts fundraiser.

The event ran from 26 October to 2 November, and developer Kinetic Games announced the final total on 6 November.

More than 500 streamers took part, the biggest turnout yet for Heart Liive, the American Heart Association’s streaming initiative.

Last year’s fundraiser brought in a little over $100,000, so this year’s total more than doubled it.

The fundraiser passed its $200,000 target, unlocking an animated in-game ID card and badge for players.

Streamers could also give viewers event items through Twitch Drops.

The event raised money for heart-health work, while also bringing the game’s players and creators together; the sources give no details about how the money will be used.
