Five-year-old shields father during ghost attraction at Korean Folk Village
At Korean Folk Village in South Korea, actors play traditional ghost characters for visitors.
A father said his five-year-old son was frightened when a ghost actor pretended to threaten him.
The child cried but stood in front of his father and shouted, “No!
Dad, run!”
The father said he was moved by his son’s courage and learned from him about love and bravery.
The actor who shared the father’s message said the performance brought a lasting memory and a serious responsibility.
One part of the attraction, called “ghost discipline,” uses spooky scenes to encourage children to promise to stop habits such as fussing over food, but some people worry the fear could be too much for a child.
The event is scheduled to run until November 15, and the village says it will develop the ghost activities to be playful and avoid causing trauma.
