CHD receives €160,000 to develop remote pregnancy monitoring

Swiss startup CHD received about €160,000 from Venture Kick to advance remote monitoring for pregnancies.

The funding will support development, testing and validation of MONI2, a system for monitoring mothers and fetuses.

The technology is designed for high-risk pregnancies that need regular medical monitoring, including when patients are outside hospital.

A washable smart textile belt collects heart and other health data, which women can view in an app while clinicians receive information through a secure online portal.

Remote checks could help detect complications earlier and reduce hospital visits, easing demands on patients and healthcare services.

CHD plans to develop consumer and medical versions of MONI2 and is working towards a commercial launch.

The company aims to complete its initial seed fundraising round by October, according to its CEO.
