Mexico delays decision on Cuernavaca convention centre tender
Mexico’s infrastructure ministry postponed the tender decision for a convention centre planned in Cuernavaca, in the state of Morelos.
The ministry said it needs more time to review the proposals and gave no new date for its decision.
Eighteen companies or company groups submitted bids, ranging from 596.6 million to 1.039 billion pesos.
The project has an estimated cost of 700 million pesos, including money for equipment, and will be funded entirely with public money.
Officials say the centre is intended to boost business tourism and also serve as a cultural venue, with space for up to 3,500 people.
Plans also include green spaces, walkways and other facilities, while the Morelos state government is expected to manage the site.
