Alfons Schuhbeck sends video greeting as decision on prison return remains pending

Alfons Schuhbeck sent a video greeting to guests at the Hullis dinner show in Munich on Wednesday.

The 77-year-old chef is being treated for incurable cancer and did not attend in person.

He urged guests to look after their health and said the show could help them forget their worries.

Schuhbeck was released from prison early in February 2025 because of his illness, while serving a sentence for financial offences.

His prison sentence has not been completed, and the interruption to his imprisonment was due to be reviewed after a medical assessment.

The Munich prosecutor’s office said there was no new decision in his case as of Wednesday.

It remains unclear whether the interruption will be extended or he will have to return to prison.
