Nicki Minaj says she will remain loyal to Donald Trump

Nicki Minaj said she will stay loyal to Donald Trump, after the US president called her his “favorite” during an Oval Office meeting.

Minaj posted on X that she was “not going anywhere” and was where she needed to be.

Her support has included working with Trump’s administration, including serving as a judge in its Million Dollar Pitch Competition for small businesses.

She first met Trump at a January summit and has praised him publicly, including in a September television appearance.

Some fans and collaborators have been put off by her support, but singer Cyndi Lauper said she does not regret allowing Minaj to use a sample of her song for a 2023 track.

Lauper said she does not believe in cancelling people and sees room for discussion.

Minaj says her political loyalty is not changing, and no further steps or plans were announced.
