Jordan Neill returns from injury for Ireland's Namibia ODI series

Ireland bowling all-rounder Jordan Neill is returning after a long spell out injured for a five-match one-day international series in Namibia.

The 21-year-old made his Ireland debut in 2025, then suffered several injuries after playing Test matches in Bangladesh.

A foot stress fracture, an ankle injury and a torn chest muscle kept him out of cricket for much of this year.

Neill says those setbacks have made him more determined to come back strongly.

New head coach Gary Wilson has selected him for the series, which begins in Windhoek on Thursday.

The matches give players a chance to build their case for places in Ireland's team and prepare for World Cup qualifying next February.

Namibia is one of the hosts of the 2027 Cricket World Cup, and Ireland are working towards qualifying for the tournament.
