Ubisoft artist dies after falling beneath train at Verona station

Riccardo Stincone, a 33-year-old artist, died after being struck by a train at Verona Porta Nuova station in Italy.

He had arrived there with his girlfriend and was trying to catch a train to Milan that had begun to leave.

He struck the train’s windows to get attention, then slipped from the platform onto the tracks.

Emergency workers took him to hospital, where he died a few hours later.

Stincone was from the Friuli region and worked for Ubisoft in Milan, while also drawing comics.

Police are investigating how the accident happened, and the train operator says it is cooperating with authorities.

His family is waiting for official permission to take his body back to Cervignano.
