K-pop agencies move headquarters beyond Gangnam

RBW has moved its headquarters to Gwangjin District in eastern Seoul, away from Gangnam, the district long associated with the K-pop industry.

The company says the new building will bring its business divisions and affiliate agencies together to improve decision-making and content production.

The area around Guui Station was once a legal district, but law firms began giving way to K-pop businesses after the local court and prosecutors' office moved in 2017.

RBW is not alone: Brave Entertainment has also moved to Gwangjin, while SM, JYP and BigHit Music have relocated to other Seoul districts.

None of Seoul's five largest entertainment agencies now has an office in Gangnam, though YG remains based in Mapo District.

The industry's center is shifting beyond Gangnam, with agencies setting up in several parts of Seoul rather than clustering in the southern district.
