One dead and five injured after crash on Jakarta’s Rasuna Said road

A Honda Mobilio hit an Isuzu pickup on HR Rasuna Said Road in South Jakarta at about 1:10 a.m.

on Thursday, near the Malaysian Embassy.

Police say the minibus was travelling north when it struck the pickup from behind, allegedly because its driver was not careful and lost concentration.

The impact overturned the pickup, which was carrying a driver and two passengers; the minibus also had a driver and two passengers.

One person died and five were injured; the injured were taken for medical care, and one minibus passenger was reported unconscious.

Reports differ on which vehicle the person who died was travelling in, though two identify the person as a pickup passenger.

Police are still investigating the cause, checking evidence including CCTV footage and vehicle condition, and awaiting the minibus driver's urine test result.
