Gwangmyeong to offer 750 families baby supplies worth 200,000 won

Gwangmyeong, a city in South Korea's Gyeonggi province, is starting a new baby-supplies support program.

From October 28, it will offer supplies worth 200,000 won to 750 families on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants must have lived in Gwangmyeong for at least three months and be at least 16 weeks pregnant or within two months of giving birth.

The support is meant to ease the costs of preparing for a baby and early childcare.

Families can choose from three packages: for birth preparation, childcare preparation, or personal selection.

Applications can be submitted by mobile, and eligible applicants must provide documents confirming their pregnancy or birth.

The city says it intends to continue strengthening support for families raising children.
