Nuevo León plans industrial hub at Colombia border crossing
Nuevo León plans an industrial and logistics hub at the Colombia border crossing with the United States.
Governor García said 40 hectares there would be used for distribution centres and cargo-transfer services.
The project aims to draw more business by using the crossing’s road links to Texas and a system in which Mexican and US authorities inspect goods together once.
García said the crossing currently handles 8,000 trucks a day, while Nuevo León and Texas expect that number to reach 20,000 daily crossings by 2030.
The state says faster inspections and road access could help attract companies and strengthen the crossing’s role in North American supply chains.
García also said the state received permits for a cargo bridge and a vehicle bridge, but gave no construction or opening dates.
The companies’ names, investment amounts and installation dates have not been announced.
