Bhuvneshwar Kumar Returns to India’s T20I Team After Nearly Four Years
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to India’s T20I team after 1,425 days away.
The 36-year-old fast bowler last played for India in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final against England.
He was brought back for the fifth T20I against the West Indies in Bengaluru on Saturday.
India were without Arshdeep Singh, and Bhuvneshwar was expected to lead the fast-bowling attack.
He has taken 90 wickets in 87 T20Is for India, making him the team’s seventh-highest wicket-taker in the format.
His return follows a strong 2026 IPL season, in which he took 28 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The fifth match is the series decider, giving India a chance to assess his form in a high-stakes game.
