Salvador Zamora resigns as Jalisco government secretary

Salvador Zamora resigned immediately as secretary general of the government of Jalisco, Mexico.

He thanked Governor Pablo Lemus and said he would focus on tasks linked to the next electoral process.

Lemus accepted the resignation and named Carlos Arias Madrid to replace him.

Arias Madrid had led Jalisco’s State Tax Service since December 2025 and has held legal, judicial and public administration roles.

The secretary general’s office connects the state government with political, economic and social groups.

Lemus asked Arias Madrid to strengthen communication with state institutions and political actors, while maintaining links with economic and social sectors.

Zamora said he would provide more details about his new work later.
