Trump invokes France unrest and defends Marshall’s medical billing lawsuits

Trump used unrest in France to campaign against Democrats at a rally in Kansas on Monday.

France has seen protests over the cost of living, with some turning into looting and violent clashes.

Trump said the United States could face similar unrest if Democrats win, and called for France to close its borders.

He was campaigning for Republican Senator Roger Marshall, who is in a close race against Democrat Adam Hamilton ahead of the November 3 midterms.

Trump also defended Marshall’s record of suing more than 700 patients over unpaid medical bills from his time as a doctor.

In doing so, Trump used “Shylock,” a term criticized as antisemitic; he has used it publicly before.

Voters will decide the Senate race on November 3, as control of Congress is also at stake.
