PSD seeks to keep three ministries in Lula's next government
Brazil's PSD expects to keep control of three ministries in President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's next government.
The party says it deserves to be valued because it resisted pressure to back Flávio Bolsonaro in the presidential runoff.
Flávio had led Lula in the first round, and the PSD was the only party in the center-right bloc to stay neutral; its lower-house members did not endorse him.
Party leaders expect Alexandre Silveira and André de Paula to remain in government: Silveira previously led the mines and energy ministry, while de Paula moved from fisheries to agriculture.
Antonio Brito is also being considered for a government role after supporting Lula in Bahia and dropping his bid to lead the lower house.
The party's expected posts are not confirmed, and its next step is to seek a place in Lula's new cabinet.
