Suspect in Tsontso Moselakgomo case due in court over alleged stolen property

Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, 38, was murdered after leaving her home in Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, for a run in September.

Police have arrested a man who was allegedly found with an item belonging to her.

He is expected to appear at Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on 12 October, likely on a charge of possessing stolen property.

Police have not said what the item is or how it was recovered.

The man has not been charged with murder, and police are still investigating whether the item could help identify who killed Moselakgomo.

Her death drew national attention amid investigations into several women’s deaths in Ekurhuleni.

A government-led multidisciplinary team is investigating the killings, but authorities have warned against assuming they are linked or were committed by one person.
