Rayo Vallecano fans pause protests but demand talks with club

Rayo Vallecano supporters agreed to ease tensions for the match against Elche in Vallecas.

The temporary truce follows club promises of partial season-ticket refunds for three matches played at Butarque and the return of the club’s red sash on next season’s shirts.

The dispute grew after safety and health concerns led to the stadium concession being suspended, while supporters also objected to a stand closure imposed as punishment after a match against Athletic was halted.

Fans say the truce does not resolve the conflict and want the club’s promises to become lasting commitments.

They are also concerned that refunding part of this season’s tickets could affect next season’s prices, an issue the club has not addressed.

Supporters demand a meeting with the board before the Celta match to confirm that the club intends to change.

A group of supporters has separately taken the Spanish Football Federation to court, arguing that the stand closure is a collective punishment that violates their rights.
