Rain and thunderstorms forecast across much of Turkey this weekend

Rain and thunderstorms are expected across much of Turkey this weekend, according to the Turkish Meteorological Service.

The forecast covers parts of seven regions, including Marmara, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, central Anatolia and the Black Sea.

Ordu and Giresun have yellow alerts for locally heavy rain, with warnings about flooding and overflow.

Earlier, a separate forecast issued a yellow warning for 25 provinces on October 30, so the alerts differ by date.

Heavy downpours could bring flash floods and transport disruption, particularly along the southern Aegean coast and in eastern Antalya.

Temperatures are expected to be mostly near seasonal averages, though some northern and eastern areas may be warmer than usual.

Residents in affected areas are advised to take care; the forecast says rain will continue in some regions on Sunday.
