Call of Duty lifetime revenue passes $40 billion

Call of Duty has passed $40 billion in lifetime revenue, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said.

The milestone comes after Modern Warfare 4 launched on October 23.

Call of Duty began in 2003 and has released main games annually, alongside mobile titles and the battle royale game Warzone.

The $40 billion figure covers the franchise as a whole, but Sharma did not say which products or sales contributed to it.

She also did not confirm whether Modern Warfare 4 pushed the series past the mark or disclose how the new game is selling.

The total shows the scale of a franchise spanning more than two decades, though Activision does not publish its games’ budgets, so its profitability is not known.

A Call of Duty movie is due in theaters on June 30, 2028, as the franchise expands beyond games.
