Ningbo business event draws 600-plus representatives and secures 20 projects

More than 600 business, government and research representatives from 22 countries and regions gathered in Ningbo, China for the 2026 World Ningbo Entrepreneurs Hometown Visit.

The event aims to connect Ningbo businesspeople around the world and support development in their hometown.

Organizers said 20 projects worth 37.79 billion yuan were signed, covering areas including semiconductors, commercial space, electric vehicles and health.

Ningbo’s districts and development zones also presented platforms and plans to support business innovation during the city’s 15th Five-Year Plan period.

The event highlighted closer cooperation between Ningbo and Hong Kong, including links between Ningbo manufacturing and Hong Kong’s research and international business networks.

One example was a 503-tonne green methanol ship-to-ship refuelling operation at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in April, described as a first for Zhejiang.

The program also includes three dedicated events and 19 related activities, while a planned Hong Kong mediation centre in Ningbo is intended to help local companies resolve cross-border disputes as they expand overseas.
