Leaked footage reportedly shows cancelled Assassin’s Creed game set in China

Alleged prototype footage of Assassin’s Creed Destiny has appeared online, showing a game that was reportedly cancelled.

The project was said to be led by TiMi Studio Group, a Tencent subsidiary, and intended for PC and consoles.

Its story was reportedly set in China in 206 BCE, during the Qin Dynasty.

The footage appears to show a female assassin entering a palace under siege by warlord Xiang Yu to pursue a mysterious artefact.

Destiny was separate from Assassin’s Creed Jade, Ubisoft’s China-set mobile game, which still has no release date.

The project was reportedly dropped as Tencent shifted away from major Western franchises, which can involve royalty payments to other companies.

No release plans for Destiny have been reported, while Jade remains in development.
